Maqolada “tanqidiy fikrlash” tushunchasining falsafa, psixologiya va pedagogika nuqtayi nazaridan tahlili
taqdim etilgan. Tanqidiy fikrlash integral tushuncha sifatida ko‘rib chiqilib, “fikrlash” va “tanqid” kategoriyalari alohida
analitik tahlil qilinadi. Tahlil xorijiy psixolog va pedagoglarning tadqiqotlariga asoslanadi. Shuningdek, maqolada tanqidiy
fikrlash murakkab refleksiv fikrlash jarayoni sifatida aniqlanib, u quyidagi komponentlardan iborat ekani ko‘rsatiladi: assotsiativ
idrok, tahlil, sintez, baholash va o‘zini o‘zi boshqarish. Bundan tashqari, tanqidiy fikrlash jarayonining rivojlanishida
erkin ta’lim va shaxsning mustaqil faoliyati asosiy omillar sifatida belgilanadi.
