The study of sentence structure remains one of the most significant areas of modern linguistics because
sentences constitute the primary means of expressing thought and communication. This article investigates the structural
and semantic features of simple sentences in English and Uzbek from a comparative linguistic perspective. The
research examines similarities and differences in sentence structure, word order, grammatical relations, semantic roles,
and communicative functions. The study contributes to comparative linguistics, language teaching, translation studies,
and cross-cultural communication by highlighting both universal and language-specific characteristics of simple sentence
construction.
