Аннотация

Lesson planning is a fundamental component of effective teaching and learning in higher education. In technical
universities, where students are expected to develop both language proficiency and professional competencies,
systematic lesson planning plays a crucial role in achieving educational goals. A well-designed lesson plan provides a
clear framework for instruction, facilitates the organization of learning activities, and ensures alignment between teaching
objectives and learning outcomes. This article examines the significance of lesson planning in English language teaching
at technical universities and discusses the contributions of Anderson, Ashcraft, Linse, and Jones to the theory and practice
of instructional planning. Particular attention is given to the principles of lesson planning, the assessment of students’
needs, and the formulation of learning outcomes. The article argues that effective lesson planning enhances student
engagement, improves instructional quality, and contributes to successful educational outcomes.
