This study examines the critical role of human expertise in AI-mediated English language instruction, emphasizing
the necessity of balancing technological capabilities with established pedagogical principles. As artificial intelligence
technologies rapidly transform language education through personalized learning systems, automated assessment
tools, and intelligent tutoring platforms, concerns arise about the potential undervaluation of human pedagogical
expertise. This research explores the technological landscape of AI in language learning, analyzes the interdependence
between pedagogical knowledge and automated functionality, and investigates human-AI interaction dynamics from
learners’ perspectives
